All right now before you watch this video, which is almost 5 minutes long but pay close attention around the minute mark, put yourself into the boy’s shoes… err swim trunks… just pretend you’re him okay! Then after you are afraid you’re going to fall to your death from the lifeguard’s stoop-

I bet you’ve gotten stuck on a chair before too human, in your short case probably the one in the kitchen. But back to the video, ask yourself if you were his dad would you have been so patient with him? Or if you were the mother after almost five minutes would you have got up there and coaxed him down with a gentle pat on the back?

“I think you’d be cackling Eliza.”

No someone else is already doing that.

Watched: My Lovely Sam Soon

Sixteen part Korean drama tells of a modern day, 30 year old pastry chef who is considered as unusual as her name. Touted as the Korean Bridget Jones, Kim Sam Soon is a foul mouthed, impulsive and genuine character whose story was addicting to watch. One of my favorite storylines was used, but with a term I had never heard before contract dating. Sam soon and her new boss (also her pretend boyfriend) go toe to toe in over the top arguments from the start. Hyun is considered cold, remote but irresistibly desirable by many and throughout the series his angst demeanor and complicated personality are slowly revealed.

Social barriers (disparate class, her weight, and her age), disapproving family, ex’s, and blind dates all are thrown into the pot of love. Speaking of pots this is not just a great romantic comedy but a food treat as well. Don’t expect to just see sweats but plenty of Kimchi and noodles to make you want to rush out to the store.

One quibble that I’ll mention is there were more than twenty scenes, okay at least five, of Sam-skit (Hyun) walking out of his office but since I viewed the whole series in less than twenty four hours it was probably more noticeable.

What can I say- I’m voracious . Now who wants to go to HMart with me?

Lately, it has been like pulling my teeth to convince my humanoid to put a movie in for me let alone take me to the movies. Do you feel the same despondency? You remember the days when going to the cinema was a joyous occasion not just another item on your to-do list?

Since I can’t not expect her to do anything nice for me here is my wish list for the month. What about you? Do you have the same taste in movies as a mutant ant? Don’t be ashamed I have first-class taste.

The Last Songcomes out 3/31/10. Eck, only because my human’s cousin has been looking forward to this forever.

There are plenty more coming out this month but I can’t share anymore because my human keeps replaying The Bounty Hunter trailer and laughing like a loon.

Video of the Week: Earthquake Tragedy in Haiti

Yesterday’s 7.0 earthquake was followed by aftershocks of smaller magnitude but the damage done to the region was catastrophic. The earthquake struck 10 miles outside the capital of Haiti, causing incomprehensible destruction in the densely populated city while those in Santo Domingo rushed out of their homes during tremors. With buildings flattened and more barely standing, the amount of people dead or injured is yet unclear but is estimated to be in the thousands.

According to an article on Live Science, there are reports of escaped inmates after the main prison in the capital collapsed today. Another article from ABC talks about Disaster Relief.

Doctor Who… begins anew

Doctor Who’s amazing ability to regenerate has been a convenient tool for producers of the Doctor Who franchise. When an actor wants to move on the can be seamlessly replaced by a new Doctor without a trite voice over so common in American soap operas at least, “Doctor Who will now be performed by…”.

That is not to say that the transition from one Doctor to the next is easy on the fans or the actors themselves but it isn’t impossible. Let’s face it, not much in Doctor Who’s world is impossible.

The latest Doctor Who, David Tenet, has retired his badge and left the Tardis after three seasons and multiple specials. The newest and youngest Doctor to date, Matt Smith, was introduced after regenerating and sending the Tardis into a swirling, fiery free fall headed for the recently saved Earth. The Master, who sadly lost his ability to regenerate and the Time Lords were put in their respective places, death and eternal imprisonment.

Will the newest Doctor capture the heart and imagination of the young and old fans alike? Will this latest Doctor Who series continue to grow in popularity? Personally, I’d like to see a movie, with many of the doctors making an appearance. In my opinion no movie would be complete without Doctor Donna.
