First Recipe Video!!
Eliza Leigh and Humanoid Translator | June 15, 2009 | 8:00 am

Although our VJ star (Bebe) called out sick, we were able to through our first recipe video together.

“Is that really how you say a VJ?”

I don’t know, you’re the human, you should!  Check out our first attempt to show how-to make some of our favorite recipes.

Here are a few things you should know before you watch:

  • If you’re expecting gourmet, keep clicking
  • Our camera has seemed to stop auto-focusing (very upsetting) so it’s blurrier than my Human’s eye sight
  • If high pitched noises bother you, the voice you hear will disturb you.
  •

Other than that, enjoy the movie, make the food and tell us what you think here!

Don’t want to watch the video?  Check out Eliza’s “Fake Summer Rolls for a more traditional format.

    Eliza’s Fake Summer Rolls
    Eliza Leigh and Humanoid Translator | June 14, 2009 | 7:00 pm

Hello, welcome back to Opinionated Ant.
Hungry? I was so I nagged my Human into making her fresh summer rolls. Before she would let me eat them though we had to make a how-to video. Normally, Bebe the Concert Aficionado would be in her princess apron and lording over the kitchen, but she was excused since she handed in her doctors note. We can’t afford to get sick you know. And neither can you so before you start please wash your hands.

    “End of Public Health announcement.”

I was wondering when you’d butt in Human.
Here’s our recipe sans video… if you’d prefer an audio demonstration go here.

    Snapped: Picnic Time
    Eliza Leigh and Humanoid Translator | June 13, 2009 | 11:00 am

    Lunch

Once there was a hungry, desperate insect.  Stealthily, she made her way across the lush jungle, all senses fixed upon the brown mountain ahead.  If she could just make it to the precipice, her deliverance from starvation would be there waiting for her.  Dodging great, clumsy giants she scurried as quick as her many legs could take her until, behold the plate!  There before her hungry eyes the delicasies she dreamed of daily.  Right before her grasp were cold, crisp pickles.  Salty, crunchy chips.  Grapes and-

Oh no, a giant grabbed the plate away!  How cruel, after traveling so far, dreaming so hard her prize was snatched before she could savor even one bite.

As the ant sadly watched, the giant slowly lowered the plate down into the grass below.  “What?  She’s leaving the plate there!’  The ant began her trip back down, hoping the picnic would wait for her.

“Eliza, are you hungry?  Because, now I am.”

Back from Outer Space… I Will Survive
    Eliza Leigh and Humanoid Translator | June 2, 2009 | 10:00 am

“Eliza Leigh, are you singing!!? ”

I Will Survive  What do you think the beautiful noise emanating from my mouth is?

    “You’re last breath?”

Human, this would probably be a good time to tell you that I found your chocolate stash… and it is now depleted.

“I won’t survive.  What do you want?  I’m trying to unpack and edit all the pictures from this weekend.”

That’s what I survived.  Not only did we manage to emerge unscathed from the parking garage (how many spots did Bebe need to try out, they were all the same size) but I was tempted with  gluttony and did not have a coronary.  You on the other hand…

    “Let’s not talk about food.”

No, let’s.  How many buffets did you go to?  Is Portland, Maine a mecca for them?

“We went to two buffets.  The Great Wall and Pizza Hut.”

I was shocked they still have Pizza Huts.

“I know, but it was Bistro style.  A far cry from the Pizza Hut I used to go to as a kid, there was some Reading Rainbow book program and we got buttons and everything.  What was it called?  Eliza?  H e l l o?

Back from Outer Space… oh sorry I was tuning you out.  What we talkin about?  Right, food.  Show some pictures of the food we ate this weekend.

I wish you would hurry up and fix your flash player problems so you can upload the little video clips you took too.  Like Greg “I made Bill Cosby Laugh” who showed Bebe how to make frozen Gyoza at Trader Joe’s or How to Make Someone Queasy (that was the funniest/lamest video you made yet).

“Hey that one was your idea!”

    Yes, but you taped it.

    “I will survive, hey hey.”

    Favorites on Flickr

It’s amazing how easily my humanoid gets distracted from cleaning, filling, anything pertaining to productivity.

    “I resent that!”

    It’s true isn’t it?

    “Still, I resent it… and I’m sick.”

While my humanoid sulks and you are just getting back into the groove at work (a. if you work & b. if you had a long weekend) peruse some of our favorite shots found on flickr.

“What Eliza Leigh means by our favorites is others pictures.”

Exactly, now get back to work!

“Have any of you seen The Fifth Element? Imagine Ruby Rod (aka Chris Tucker) yelling “Commercial” when Eliza Leigh says “Get Back to Work”. I thought you might appreciate the audio.”

I take that as a compliment. Now turn off Fern Gully and put on The Fifth Element for me. Or I’ll eat that last of your 1up Mario Brothers candy.

    “That’s Blackmail.”

You catch on fast. There’s hope for you yet.
