Here are a few posts from last month that tickled my fancy.

Photography

Sometimes it is as simple as this post by Scott Bourne-> How to “LOOK” at a photograph.

Enjoyed this interview of Bailey & Banjo on pet photography at Through the Lens of Kimberly Gauthier and am curious if they’d take a picture of my pet.

“Eliza, you don’t have any pets.”

But I have you human.

Words

Found this blog, Instapoem. You write a poem in five minutes using daily prompt. Sounds like fun. 1

Here’s a roundup post by Nathan Bransford that taught me things. Two of them:
He has a forum & there is a REAL John Locke! 2

I saw the movie Cowboy’s and Aliens. Liked it but I went in with no expectations. This post broke it down from a writers viewpoint. Read it.

Pop Culture

James Taylor is offering free guitar lessons. 3 Now if only HT didn’t break hers.

“I didn’t break it- you gave it to your termite friends.”

You told me to be a good hostess.

A DIY from U Create 4

Learn to make your own tee’s with your favorite movie quote or saying. HT what would your shirt say?

“I saw something nasty in the woodshed.”

You need help.

Was that a spider? Could you see? They always come after me.

When I was a child and going to sleep spiders would cover me head to feet.

Scared and frozen I’d close my eyes but could still see them falling from the sky.

Tap, tap, tap what was that sound beating unceasingly?

Not my heart and not my feet but the spiders as they wrapped their web about me.

Tighter, tighter it swirled around until I was a mummy they captured me.

Frozen no longer I’d scream and shout but nary a peep could be heard without.

Kicking and scratching I’d rip through the web only to see it grow back again.

Finally, wet eyes closed; defeated and forlorn I’d fall asleep until the morn.

Okay so it is a poem based on HT’s real life experience last night. She didn’t tell me about it, instead she wrote in on the back of a bill to remember it. Plus, if you thought you’d be reading a real ode… sorry.

Late at night from the corner of my eye I saw a white spider and it had to die.

I smacked it hard but it bounced away.

I settled back down, closed my eyes and felt it nipping at my thigh.
